Espace Jacqmotte
Espace Jacqmotte is a courtyard garden in the heart of Brussels, designed to provide a quiet retreat within a commercial building complex. Despite its compact size of just 850 square metres, the design creates a generous sense of green space.
The inner courtyard is structured with clipped hedges and topiary that give the space a formal elegance. The planting creates a layered composition that provides greenery at multiple heights, from ground-cover to small trees.
As both a ground-level courtyard and a roof garden, the project demonstrates how landscape design can bring nature into dense urban environments where space is at a premium.
Espace Jacqmotte shows that even the smallest urban spaces can become places of beauty and calm through careful design.
