Private Garden California
2007–2009
California, United States

This private garden in California brings the Wirtz design philosophy to the American West Coast. Designed between 2007 and 2009, the approximately 3,500 square metre garden adapts the formal European tradition to a Californian setting.

The design works with the local climate, using drought-adapted plantings within a structured framework. The garden creates a series of outdoor living spaces that take advantage of the mild climate.

The California project demonstrates the international adaptability of the Wirtz approach, translating Belgian garden traditions into a new landscape and climate.
