Warsaw Spire: making of … the "Plac Europejski" or European Square

Warsaw Spire: making of ... the "Plac Europejski" or European Square is the public square at one of the most recent achievements of the developer Ghelamco Poland. It consists of a 22Om tall sky scraper "Warsaw Spire" and two flanking curved office buildings of 50m high by Jaspers Eyers Architects. At the northern side of the tower, an open public space unfolds around a meandering river, towards Grzybowska Street at the opposite side. Oval groves of Honey Locusts pinch and embrace the river, inviting the eye to wander in the distance. At the opposite corner of the project, a circular pool with Swamp Cypress overflows in a pebble paved river that ends in a large oval infinity pool, emulating the oval shape of the building. The enclosed square, the lively water and granit terraces invite families and office employees to enjoy a drink and the scenery in one of the numerous restaurants and bars surrounding the square. One of the rare business centers providing a comfortable and pleasant quality leisure time opportunity in the vicinity, the European Square is becoming quickly a popular spot in the city of Warsaw.
